Haul, Broken & All – Beauty & Extras
Posted: August 2, 2012 Filed under: Makeup, Recent Purchases | Tags: beauty haul, haul, mac snob, makeup, nars, nars schiap, target, target haul Leave a commentI did do a bit of beauty damage as well but again, a lot of this was with coupons or on sale or both. I stopped by Ulta and picked up some polishes on sale.
First is my favorite of the set, Neo whimsical from Essie.
This is the most beautiful muted grey purple pink color I’ve ever seen.
Next is Revlon’s Sheer Seafoam.
I should’ve realized from the name that it would be completely sheer but it’s so beautiful in the bottle that I didn’t even think about buying it until I got home and swatched it. It’s disappointing because if it wasn’t sheer it would be such a cute summer color!
Next I got this cute fall green color in Don’t Mess With OPI.
It’s quite a nice fall green color and the formula is pretty good. I haven’t worn it besides swatching yet.
Then I picked up this red from Essie in Red Nouveau.
It’s like a tomato red. I don’t have too many reds so I decided to add this to my collection.
I got this Revlon one in Blue Lagoon.
I’ve been hunting for light blues all summer and have for the most part been disappointed with the formulas. This one had a pretty chunky formula as well so I don’t know what’s up with these light blues but I’m still hunting.
Lastly from that set, I picked up this pop beauty one in mint magic.
This one is crazy bright! I have plenty of mint polishes but this one is definitely different because it’s so bright as opposed to being a muted or light mint color. The formula though is really bad. It’s gunky and sticky but I’m willing to deal with it because I love the color so much!
I also picked up these two but I returned the Loreal one on the right because it looks nothing like in the bottle.
I kept the Essie one in fiji because it’s such a cute light almost white pink color.
And then I found Essie A crewed interest on sale.
Lastly for nails I picked up these three Nabi ones from a boutique. They’re only $1 each!
The bright neon green and pink are so cute! I haven’t tried the blue yet but I will soon!
I also picked up a few lipsticks. First is this Tarina Tarantino one in Candy Jar.
It’s like this bright candy pink that’s almost reminiscent of an 80’s lipstick shade because it’s got some purple undertones.
I picked up another Nars Schiap because I lost my original one and I just couldn’t not have it so I picked up a replacement.
I got Mac’s Snob.
I’m so-so on this because it’s pretty unwearable on it’s own unless I’m going out at night and doing a crazy dark smokey eye. During the day it needs to be mixed with something else on top or under it.
I also ordered this Stila Lip Enamel in Giggle from ebay.
It’s crazy bright pink and I love it!
And then my sister came home from Japan and brought back this super cute baby pink lipstick for me!
It looks washed out here but in person it’s a true baby pink with coral undertones.
Moving along, I jumped on the bandwagon and picked up the new Revlon Whipped foundation but only because I got an awesome $2 coupon.
I got it in Natural tan and it’s pretty much a perfect match because I got so dark from pontooning. I actually like this much better than the normal revlon colorstay foundations because this looks the same and has the same staying power but this feels so much lighter and better on your skin and it doesn’t have that same super fragrant smell.
I picked up a sonial kashuk brush, again with some coupons.
This one is so unique. I have nothing like it. It’s supposed to be for contouring but I’m using it for highlighting and it works just fine.
I also picked up a bunch of random things from Target because I had some really good coupons last month that were going to expire.
I’ve been wanting this cosmetic bag since forever because I love the red and purple stripes.
I also got these little organizer things from the dollar section at target to organize my chunky rings.
And some hair clippies.
I’m always losing these little guys.
I also picked up some really random stuff I thought I would share.
^these are my HG puffs because they’re sealed completely at the sides so no matter how soaked it gets, it doesn’t expand and come apart. It’s expensive though, $5 for 100.
I’m trying a different contact solution.
I usually use Target’s Generic one but last year when I bought new contacts my store gave me a sample of this Bio True one and I loved it so much because I remember it being so cool and crisp on my eyes but this bottle seems normal and almost the same as my Target one so I’m going back to Generic.
I’ve been buying a lot of studs online to diy shorts.
I’ve found that 10mms are too small and 12 is ok but I’m going to look for a size up.
I bought a car organizer that turns out to be too big for my trunk but’s ok because I plan to upgrade to SUV soon.
Since I’ve been doing my nails so much I got some polish remover and an eos balm.
I now remember why I stopped using EOS balms, they’re just inferior to my other balms. They only good thing about them is they’re cute.
I picked up this suit case from Marshalls.
I bought some tweezers from f21 to apply lashes.
I don’t like this, it feels really flimsy and it’s open too wide so holding them still while putting on lashes is really hard to do.
Picked up some goodies earlier from the Bath and body works sale.
I got a little makeup baggie from H&M in lime green zebra.
It’s the prefect size for my purse.
Picked up a beach towel.
It’s huge so I love it.
My little sister brought me this little blue headband from Japan.
And finally I picked up this doggie tray from Marshalls so I have a set at my house for my dog when she comes over.
And that’s it for my beauty and random stuff haul for July!

I don’t really like to do collective look posts like this but I’ve discovered it’s harder to blog from my phone than I thought. I’ll try to remember what I wore in each set.

Recent Nail of the Days – Pinks & Purples
Posted: June 26, 2012 Filed under: Makeup | Tags: essie polish, essie to buy or not to buy, etude nail polish swatch, makeup, nail of the day, nail polish, revlon flirt swatch Leave a commentI have been switching my nails up so often that I don’t remember what days I wore them so I’m doing a separate post.
I pulled out an old Etude polish I got years ago from Korea.
It’s so cute and the perfect baby pink. The formula though of course is all nasty and thick and sticky now. I actually loved the color so much I went searching for a lip color to match but alas it wasn’t meant to be. Anything I found didn’t translate the same on my lips.
A day or so later, I added a glitter accent nail.
And then I used Revlon Flirt and left the accent nail.
And finally here’s a sneak peak of a new polish I got.

But I have been trying to use my makeup more lately so I did a look of the day shot.
Revlon colorstay foundation in Natural tan | Stila shadow in poise | Makeup forever aqua pencil in black | Loreal Volumonious mascara | Mac lipstick in Please me | Mac lipglass in Pink Nouveau.
We started the morning picking up graduation presents at Target and found this cute promotional decor sticker near the toy isle.
Then we went to Radio shack and I bought my boyfriend an early birthday present.
He’s now in the Iphone club too!
Later we grabbed some sandwhiches and frozen yogurt!
Today some of my orders came in!

Posted: June 4, 2012 Filed under: Makeup, shopping | Tags: Fashion, fashion haul, haul, hey sailor, mac haul, makeup, makeup forever rouge artist natural, makeup haul, Sephora Haul Leave a commentI think it’s been a decent amount of time since my last haul and I’ve been slowly gathering things here and there. This is all spread up over May and some were purchased by my boyfriend.
First are some clothing and accessories. I got three pairs of shorts this month and a pair of jeans.
I got really good deals on these! The top two shorts were from AE and we got them at 40% off over Memorial day weekend. The bottom pair is a $12 pair from F21 and the jeans were purchased with a 35% off coupon!
I also picked up a leopard print button down for $13 and a cute jean shirt that I’ve been wanting.
And then I picked up some bandeaus from AE at 40% off to go under tops and tanks with big arm holes.
I also picked up two bright purses.
I sat on this blue one for a while, since March I think. I never bought it because suede material always scares me because it’s hard to clean but I love the structure and color and I finally gave in!
This neon pink one was a love at first sight. I love how its a play on the classic quilted shape but the material makes it very causal. I’m not quite sure what material this is, it feels like a windbreaker type of fabric if that makes sense.
I also picked up this cute little wallet from Target.
I’ve been lazy lately and I’ve only been using card holders or wristlets but now I want to get back into wallets again so I got this one because my old one is from 2 years ago.
And then I only picked up one piece of jewelry.
I just feel like on my last haul I picked up all the jewelry pieces that I wanted and haven’t been able to find anything I liked more since but this necklace is something I’ve been looking for and I really like that one blingy accent ring. I do wish the sizes didn’t get bigger at the bottom but I compromised because it was only $7.
I also hauled a bit of makeup this month.
First I picked up this Dior Blush that I could not get out of my mind.
In the pan it’s the most beautiful pink and right up my alley but apparently it adjusts to you ph and moistures levels so the color looks different on everyone and on me it looks red which I don’t like. I’m still deciding on this one because I love it but I can’t use it if it continues to look red on me. My skin is not light or dark enough to pull off red blush.
I also picked up a blush from the new Hey Sailor Collection.
It is the only thing I got from that collection. I wanted more because I like the limited edition packaging but I’m not really interested in any of the stuff from that collection, only the blushes and bronzers. I wanted a lipstick so badly but of the four released, I only liked the red and orange and I dont need another red or orange. I bought this blush because I’m currently really into very light blushes right now and this one is a really pretty flush on my skin. I didn’t get any bronzers because I was just overwhelmed at how many there were.
I also picked up a NARS eyeshadow duo in Charade.
I really love the purple-taupe color and the soft brown rose color. They’re perfect for everyday wear and I plan to pick up some more duos when I go back.
I also picked up a MUFE rouge artist natural lipstick in 41.
It looks quite bright in the picture but on the lips it’s softer and more muted. These lipsticks are super creamy and comfortable on the lips. I really like the formula so I plan on picking up a few more. I’ve already found a light pink and a hot pink one that I want.
This past month I also dropped by the CCO and picked up a few things. These are not all CCO discounted stuff. I got two creamsheens.
Five lipglasses.
I really love pink lemonade. It’s a coraly orange color that looks really cute for summer.
And then I picked up three lipsticks.
I am slowly, but surely building my Mac lipstick collection.
From Target I picked a few beauty and misc. items. I got two brushes, an elf powder brush that I love for foundation and powder products and a Sonia kashuk synthetic buffing brush that I used a coupon for.
The elf one is always a no fail for me and I use it for so many purposes that I picked up another. I probably have 5-6 of them. The Sonia Kashuk one is great for foundation so far. It’s very soft and dense.
I also picked up my first waterproof mascara in a long time.
It’s probably been years since I’ve bought one but lately my lashes have really been bothering me the way one side stays up and one doesn’t so I thought I’d try to see if waterproof will help the droopy side 🙂 So far, I don’t like the way it applies as much as the regular one. I feel like it’s not as volumnizing as the normal one.
Also, Target now has those great BOGOFree deals with some of the salon/ higher end hair products so I picked up this hair mask that I’ve been meaning to try.
I love the smell of it but I’ve only used it once so far so I can’t much say how it performs yet.
And finally I picked up some misc. stuff from Target. I just love Target.
And that is all for my very long long haul!
Recent Nails
Posted: May 31, 2012 Filed under: Makeup | Tags: holographic polish swatch, kayla holographic polish, makeup, nail of the day, opal nails, orly fantasea swatch, sinful colors cinderella swatch, ulta Leave a commentI’ve been painting my nails every 2-3 days because I picked up so much nail polish last month that I’ve barely been able to try them all. In fact I think I’ve only tried 10 or so polishes. Here are some looks I tried in May.
I tried Sinful Colors in Cinderella.
This one was very disappointing. It was super streaky and didn’t have very good coverage at all. I think I did 4 coats there and you can still see my nail beneath it. It also seems kind of sticky in texture which made drying a pain. I probably will search for another baby blue and one without glitter.
I also tried Orly Fantasea.
This one is really pretty because of the purple and pink duochrome but it’s also sheer. This is about 2-3 coats. Maybe the polish would look better with a color underneath.
Then I did an opal nail using various polishes.
You can’t really tell in the picture but it looks alright. I sponged on the colors after a white and pearl coat.
And lastly I bought my very first holographic polish from Ulta.
I only did one nail and not a very good job but you can see it’s holographic. I didn’t buff my nails well enough so its uneven and that’s where you can see on the nails that it’s not filled in. I will try harder next time but it’s more time consuming than I’m used to. And it’s quite expensive so I will probably not be using this polish everyday.
Recent Purchases – It get’s worse
Posted: April 24, 2012 Filed under: fashion, Makeup, shopping | Tags: Fashion, forever21, h&m, haul, makeup 2 CommentsI know I’ve been hauling like crazy but it just got worse. I’ve been doing so much crazy spring shopping and I’m glad to say I think I’ll be done with crazy hauling after April. I just needed to Spring Shop so badly so I did major damage on this one. I’ll do beauty first because my nail polish hauling has not stopped.
As you know, Sally’s Beauty supply is running their b2go free all month long so everytime I’m near one I have this crazy urge to go look. So of course, I got a few more polishes. First, I got this beautiful rose gold color by Orly.
It doesn’t have quite the flaky metallic look as the other silver polish I got but it looks similar in the bottle and it is definitely a true rose gold color so if you’re looking for rose gold, this is a good one.
Next I picked up this Black shimmery color from the China Glaze Hunger Games collection because I heard that it was a matte color.
It’s crazy beautiful! It’s more of a charcoal and the matte finish over the shimmer is just so different and awesome!
And then I picked up a color from the new China Glaze Prismatic collection in Liquid Crystal.
As you can see, on the nail its not as dark as in the bottle. I’d like it to be a little dark so it has a galaxy type look but I can just sponge on color under. That swatch is about 3 layers.
This week sinful colors are on sale at Walgreens for $1 so of course I stocked up a little. First I got this muted pinky neutral shade in soulmate.
I haven’t tried these on yet so I don’t have a nail swatch.
I also picked up another neon yellow color because my glow in the dark F21 one is not quite opaque enough so I thought I’d get this to layer under.
And then I got a neon hot pink.
I’m actually wearing this right now and it’s really cute.
Then I picked up a bright orange.
I also picked up a plain white and black.
And the last sinful colors I got was this light blue in Cinderella.
Milani is also on sale this week at kmart for bogo50% off so I picked up two of the chunky glitter ones.
I still want the pink one and maybe the purple.
And then I stopped by Ulta to get a ridge filling base for my nails since they’re not smooth.
I’ve used it once and I feel like it makes my color application worse. It seems like instead of filling in ridges, it makes ridges and my polish goes on super streaky. I don’t know if I’ll be keeping this yet, I want to try it one more time with a different polish brand and color.
Last weekend I went to the CCO with my sisters and picked up a few MAC things. I got a hot pink creamsheen lipgloss.
Then I picked up one of the sets from last year’s holiday collection.
I mostly got it because I love the white tube lipstick and it was a color I don’t have. I also am currently collection creamsheen lipglosses so that nude is a nice addition.
And last of the beauty related stuff, I picked up lotion and some containers to spread it.
I actually tried that lotion because of a friend and now I’m in love with it! It smells so good, not fruity, not musky, not citrisy. It’s hard to discribe, it’s not a fresh scent either. It might be closer to a floral but seriously, go to your local target and take a sniff and you’ll be in love too!
That’s all I picked up for cosmetics but the month isn’t over yet so I might find myself in another Sally’s before this weekend comes to an end. I also did some shopping at F21 and H&M and picked up a few things.
Now onto accessories. I’ve been loving bracelets lately so I picked up a few here and there. First, I’ve been needing a watch but I actually don’t like watches that much. They’re bulky and I don’t really use them for their purpose since I use my phone for time so I decided I wasn’t going to invest in one (yet.) So I went to Walmart to look for a cheapie $20 gold tone watch to stack and look what I found, something even better!
A $7 stacking piece! It’s not the most beautiful thing on earth but when it’s stacked, it blends in beautifully. I still might invest in a better one in the future because this one is actually too big on my wrist and I want one with a bigger face.
And then I picked up this basic gold necklace from F21.
I like that it actually hangs from a chain and doesn’t go around the whole neck because those don’t sit on my collar bone nicely.
I also picked up some bracelets from H&M.
I actually might get another one of these so I can wear them like matching cuffs.
Then I got this belt one and a rose gold one.
And then I picked up this orange one from Rue21.
I don’t actually like that store because I feel like the clothes are geared towards 13 year olds but every once in a while you find little things like this. And of course since it’s Rue21 it says sexy 🙂
I also got a pair of flats and a bucket bag!
I love the colors on this bag! And it’s large and roomy!
And then I picked up a leopard print scarf for about $8 just for adding a little extra omph to outfits.
That’s all I got for accessories, I did pick up some clothes as well. I got this bright aqua skirt from Charlotte Russe while at the outlet.
It’s big but I can make it smaller at the sides.
From Forever21 I got two thin cardigans and a cute little tribal top.
I love how the colors look on the nude top.
From H&M I picked up a few things on my list of summer necessities. First I got a jean jacket.
I also got this minty tank and red skirt which I think will look great together.
And that’s it for my haul this round. I think I need to make some sort of pact with myself not to shop in May because for the most part I’ve found most of my spring and summer wardrobe needs. I will get a few more pairs of shorts from Hollister and a pair of leather flip flops from there because those are my favorite of each kind. I also am still hunting for a hot pink button down, nude pumps, and suede aqua blue pumps. Wish me luck!

Posted: April 17, 2012 Filed under: fashion, Makeup | Tags: china glaze, china glaze flip flop fantasy nail swatch, Fashion, haul, makeup, orly, orly dazzle, orly fantasea, sally's sale 2 CommentsHave you ever had one of those days where you shop all day and you can’t find what you’re looking for? Well, it wasn’t one of those days for me! The other day when I went to run some errands and shop I found everything I was looking for and had been wanting to find.
First, I had been on the hunt for the MAC limited edition Extra Dimension MSF highlighter in Superb that came out early this month and I haven’t been able to get it online. Last week I went to a Macy’s near my work place and of course they were sold out. So shopping morning I called a few Mac stores and they were sold out. One was ordering more so I gave me my name and number to call me when the products came in. I wasn’t able to reach the Macy’s Macs because I called before the store opened. When I went to a Macys at the mall I was at I found it! I was so shocked and happy that I didn’t even bother to look for other products!
The main reason I wanted this was because when the Laura Mercier highlighter came out around Christmas time I wasn’t able to find it anywhere and I wanted it so bad. It’s very similar to this. They both are a rose gold tone highlighter and so when this came out, I had to have it! I’m still considering getting a back up when the other MAC store calls me. It’s so beautiful on the skin, and I think it’ll look even better with a tan!
I went to return some stuff and I also found some great things at F21 that I just could not believe I found! First, I found a hot pink zip up hoodie that’s thin for spring and summer.
I also have been wanting a thin off the shoulder sweater type shirt in a heathery grey and I finally found one I liked.
I also found a pair of light blue striped shorts.
And best of all, I found a bright creamsicle orange t-shirt!
You can’t believe how long I’ve wanted these items and they’re all pretty inexpensive too!
Also I stopped by Sallys again and my boyfriend bought me some more nail polish because the sale is still going on.
I picked up Orly Fantasea and it’s gorgeous!
I haven’t worn it yet or had time to swatch it but it looks amazing in the bottle.
I also picked up this Orly silver in dazzle.
I have other silvers but this one was calling me because it looks like there’s something in there, like chunky silver. I don’t know how to describe it but it does not look like a normal silver.
And then I picked up China Glaze flip flop fantasy.
The color is crazy cute, it’s this bright coral tone pink that I just love but the texture is not great. It’s not a creamy formula, it’s almost matte so it applies really streaky. It took four coats to get it that opaque. This will not be a polish I wear a lot.
And that’s it for my haul. There’s still time in April so I will probably pick up a few more orly’s and China Glazes before the month is up. I just hope they’re better formulated.
