[ ♡ ] Spring Cleaning, dusty dusty

My sister recently moved out of my room and into her own space in the basement so I’m in the process of rearranging and cleaning my stuff. This comes at a perfect time because it’ll be May in a few days and my wardrobe needs to be changed for the season.

I’ve put a new clothing rack into my room because my old one broke from the weight of the clothes (lol) but I haven’t cleaned and organized it yet so once my closet is complete, I’ll put up some pictures. I’m in the process of moving my summer heels back up to my room and putting my boots away.

I’ve also gained some much need ground space for my stuff so I thought I’d share. Next to my vanity I’ve stacked up my two train cases and my little basket of wallets/wristlets etc.

I’ve used my new silver train case at least once or twice but I didn’t think of how heavy it would be when I first bought it. As it turns out, I don’t really like using it because on its own, its pretty heavy already and then add to that my makeup and I’m just asking for back problems. I’ll probably use the pink one most of the time unless I need to carry a lot of stuff for a longer period of time.

I also got this little round basket a while ago from a lotion gift set and decided to put my wallets, wristlets and clutches in it. As you can see, I’m pretty handy because I have my hammer and level. Yes, they are pink and yes I use them, well at least the hammer. I’ll be using the level when I put up my ikea wall shelves.

I’ve also started storing my palettes differently.

I keep most of my makeup in drawers so I end up not using a lot of it, especially not palettes so I decided to them in this letter organizer so that I can see them and reach for them easily. This is actually a pretty big letter organizer from Target I got a few years ago for around $15. I don’t own a lot big palettes so there’s only a few coastal scents in there. That little pink book is my inspiration book where I write down looks I want to try including hair and makeup and I also put clippings in there.

And lastly, I’ve been trying to clean my vanity counter but I’ve been having a hard time because although my sister moved out, she left her makeup because there’s no natural lighting downstairs for her to do makeup. I did add a little storage tower though.

I got these two little tower trays from the bath area of target for about $5 each. They’re really cute because they’re a good size and they have dipped opening in front and they stack. I put my cotton puffs in the bottom and sponges and lashes on top. This is really convenient for when I use my toner in the morning. I also have a tub of Equate wipes from Walmart and a brush holder from Etude when I went to korea.

I’m still organizing my other stuff but once its all done, I’ll update with more pictures.

[ ♡ ] New Discoveries: Lashing for Walmart, Removable Beauty at Target and Pretty in Sears

It’s been a while since I’ve been able to blog but I did discover some interesting things in the past few weeks. First, Walmart is getting really good at selling beauty. They have the makeup screens, the Maybellene Fit trials, the brush head display and now they have this:

It’s an eyelash display! It’s a set of plastic see through rectangles with a picture of a lash on it and you can actually hold it up to a mirror against your eye and see how the lashes would look on you!

I tried it against my eye and it looked really cool! I don’t know how close to the real thing these come but it seems pretty accurate. They have almost all the lashes they sell so you really can decide and see before you buy.

A few weeks ago I also went to Target to look for a gift for my baby cousin’s birthday and I saw something at Target I’d never seen before: Barbies with Removable heads.

I just thought this was so weird. At first I thought you just pull the head off like we used to when we were kids but I guess the whole upper chest part is pulled off and replaced. I think the idea is just so bizarre and interesting. Instead of buying a lot of barbies, you can just buy new heads.

I also found something in the toy aisle at Target I want:

A princess mirror! How cute is that!

And last but not least, I also discovered that Sears will now be carrying drugstore cosmetics. I saw it in a mall sears so I don’t know if it will be rolling out everywhere. I don’t shop at Sears so it wont effect me much but I wonder how the pricing will be and what made them take this initiative but I think the pricing will be more along the lines of CVS and Walgreens and less like Target and Walmart so expect a few dollars markup.

[ ♡ ] Recent Purchase – Hair dryer shopping

Yesterday I went out to look for a new hair dryer because mine broke. So I decided to go to Walmart instead of Target this time because I’ve been to Target a lot and I just feel like I’ve been giving them too much money lately. I literately stood there for 30 minutes debating about which hair dryer to get. I can safely say, I know nothing about hair dryers and what makes a good one so I had no basis on which to compare them. I looked at watts first and they’re all the same so then I looked at prices and they’re all comparable from $15-$30 so that didn’t help. I even facebooked my dilemma. I then thought maybe the more attachments that came with, the better but then some cheaper ones have more attachments than the expensive ones so that was a bust. I finally decided on this Revlon one based on two very unscientific factors: sleekness and color 🙂

I just like it because its plain, sleek and black. It was probably $17 so not bad. It comes with two attachments which I probably won’t use because I’m just hair dryer-illiterate.

I also got some other things from Walmart including a gift which is why there’s a huge yellow blur in the picture. I got some brush heads for my electric toothbrush, and then nail polish remover and a mini hair spray to leave at work for touch ups.

I also dropped by Sallys to pick up a comb to leave a work for teasing touch ups lol. I ended up with more than I planned like always. I got a teasing comb, a small boar bristle round brush, two pairs of lashes and some hair clips for when I blow out my hair.

Then I dropped by H&M to pick up the black version of the grey blazer I bought two weeks ago because I really like the way it fits. And again, I got more than planned but everything was on sale so I didn’t spend much!

^ gloves for $3

^muavey ballerina pink tights for $1

^a green drapey skirt for $7

^ a cute top with shoulder details for $3!

^pink version of the same top

^A grey button down sweater/cardi with a slight shoulder pouf.

And finally, the black blazer I went to buy.

And then I also ended up at Target even though I earlier vowed not to give Target anymore of my money this week. I just got a gift bag, foundation, sponges and a pair of corner lashes.

I also got a trashcan (my original purpose for going to Target) but I left it in the car last night so I can just take it straight to work this morning.
