Saturday was PH’s 23rd birthday so we celebrated with a night out around town. She got a hotel right in the middle of everything so it was really convenient. Around 3 a few of us went first to get ready at the hotel before meeting up with the others and heading out to dinner.
Here’s birthday girl and I heading to check in first.
The outside of the hotel was really nice and the lobby was all glass and gleaming marble but the room was a different story. We were up on the 3rd floor and right off the side of the elevator but our room didn’t have a microwave and fridge. The front desk told us it would be an additional $12 a night cost! Ridiculous right? Besides that it was comfortable and we had a really nice view of the river. Here’s a quick shot of the window:
As we were getting ready we realized we still had a lot of time left so we watched Scooby doo on tv and took some funny photos with mustaches that Xti got from a vending machine!
They were so funny and came in different colors! I got a blonde straight one. The funniest one was Chouas because it was grey!
Later Adam and Mel and Amy came by and we took some pictures before heading out. Here’s a group shot of the girls.
We walked a few blocks to a nearby sushi restaurant and we got seated upstairs in the loft area. It was really cute! Christi took a shot of the railing behind us.
I got some dumplings and a spicy tuna roll named after a hockey player from our state team.
We did a cute nail shot:
Here’s birthday girl with her complimentary fried green tea ice cream!
Another group shot of all the girls
Our food was delicious and really fulfilling because we all shared so by the time I got my roll I was pretty full already. Our waitress was also super cute and she gave us some hot sake!
We stopped by another place after to end the night dancing away! It was an awesome night, full of fun, laughter and that’s-what-she-said jokes!
Yesterday I went to have dinner with Choua and Mala after work. First here is a picture of what I wore:
Ok on to the food! We went to a place called Shanhai Bistro that specializes in Chinese food and sushi. It was really complicated to get to because as you approach it on the main road you can see it on the strip but you have to go around back and drive through a series of apartment complexes to get there. Once you’re there though, the area is very cute, especially all decked out for the holidays.
Here are a few shots:
Overall, it was ok. I ended up paying only $25 for two huge rolls and a smaller one so not a bad deal but the sushi was not top grade. Everything sort of tasted the same with a blandish taste. I probably will not be going back again due to the bad sushi.
After that we did a little shopping. We went to this store called Charming Charlie and its basically a huge corner store full of accessories: jewelry, shoes, bags etc. They have a few racks of clothes but the main focus is definitely the jewelry.
We also went to H&M and did a little big of shopping and trying on.
After that we went to Target a did a little more shopping and then I went home. Later that night (this morning) was crazy! Nalee came over to use my laptop at 12:30 am so I woke up to let her in and then I woke up again to let her out at 4:30 AM and then my sister woke me up to send her to school at 6:50 Am to only to drive there and find out that it was only 5:50 AM and her clock was wrong! I was so mad! I came back home, knocked out and woke up again at 9. Gosh, what a night, no sleep at all.
