I was supposed to be on a shopping ban through mid July but after about two weeks I gave up. Also the number one motivation for my ban was because I was supposed to be saving up for a trip to Chicago but we decided not to go anymore so I just threw the ban out the window. So of course in my typical shopping fashion, here are my buys for the month of July. I had to break up the haul into two parts, fashion & beauty. First up is Fashion and Jewelry.
I picked up this lace type top from a local boutique
I’ve actually been looking for more of a white damask top but everytime I find one it’s a cropped style so I went with this one because it doesn’t quite look like lace so its still nice and summery.
And that’s it for the fashion part of the haul. It seems like a lot but I got almost all of it on sale or for really good prices!
I’ve been collecting pictures of stuff I’ve hauled over the course of the past few weeks. I actually got a lot of this with coupons and sales so I’m super excited about that! First of all, as you know I’ve recently joined the Iphone train so I’ve made some ebay orders for covers. I think I bought 5 cases in total since I got my phone. They’ve been arriving every couple of days so I’ve snapped shots a few.
I gave this mint one to my sister but I love the rubberized feeling of it so I will probably order another one.
This is the one I’m currently using.
That little bow over the earphone jack is called a plug and it’s to protect dust from getting inside the headphone jack.
I’ve also been trying to diy some shorts so I’ve ordered a lot of studs in different sizes.
These are 8mm and they’re the only ones I’ve received so far. I got them off etsy but I’ve since learned that ebay is way cheaper.
I also got this cute little notebook to replace my old moleskin. I looked for ages for one without lines but I’ve given up and decided to go with this one.
It’s actually the perfect size, if only it didn’t have lines and the pages were thicker.
Sonia Kashuk’s summer stuff was on sale so I bought these two things with some coupons so they were super inexpensive.
I’ve been eyeing these brushes for a long time but didn’t pick them up because I have another old Sonia Kashuk brush set that have really hard bristles. Luckily these are a lot softer and better. I’m really glad I got this set because they’re all different brushes from what I already have.
That’s it for my haul this time around.
I’m still not good at blogging often but with my phone I now take pictures of everything so I can keep a really good track of my activity to blog later on even if I can’t get to it right away. I know this is long over due so I’ll just get right into it.
I was going to buy her a camera for graduation but since she’s going to Japan next week I told her I would just double the amount of money I was going to give her to use in Japan. Overall it worked out nicely because I don’t have to worry about getting a gift and she gets extra cushion money for Japan just in case she wants to buy more.
And then later in the day I went fishing with my boyfriend and his brother and brother’s girlfriend. Well, I watched lol. Here’s Koko at the bait shop.
It was fun until it started getting really cold and rainy.
I didn’t pick up a lot of clothes, mostly bracelets so I’ll start with those. I went bracelet crazy I don’t know why. Maybe because it’s summer and I’m really into stacking lately or because it’s so inexpensive to get a lot of? They’re all from F21 and all relatively inexpensive.
And that is it for my haul this time around. I’m planning a trip so I will probably be more conservative with my shopping ways for a while.
We did some shopping on Saturday but we had to drive out to the places because we wanted to try new shopping areas and boy was it tiring! We didn’t even shop that much, maybe 6-7 stores total but we had to drive so far between 3 shopping areas that we were drained of energy by the time we were done. I didn’t pick up that much but I did get some things here and there.
First some goodies from VS.
My sisters and boyfriend thought these orange shorts were so hideous but I love it because it reminds me of a tiger! It’s so cute, although I think it’s supposed to be zebra print?
And then I dropped by Sephora to trade in my fragrance coupon for a new fragrance of my choice from the sampler and I got me some Versace!
You’re only allowed to get the 1 oz versions of the perfumes but I have never even reached halfway on a perfume before so 1 oz is plenty for me and it smells amazing! It’s so fresh and bright but still feminine without smelling like cotton candy.
And then I traded in 100 points for the Korres mattyfying primer.
I haven’t used it yet but I will try it out. It’s about .33 oz so 1/3 of what a normal primer size is which I think is huge for a sample. Should last a few months I think.
And then finally I went to Ulta to continue on my never ending hunt for the Maybellene eye tattoo in Tough as taupe but couldn’t find it so came out instead with a new lipstick from Rimmel which I love.
It’s the new Kate lipsticks in a nude color. It’s very creamy and on the browner side of nude but it’s really more a true nude under gloss. I’m wearing it in one post below at the cafe. The only problem is it smells sort of plasticy and manufactured with a sort of sweet scent on top. I don’t know what it is but I don’t like the smell.
I also got my boyfriend some new vans not pictured here but overall, a good shopping trip!
Ok onward! I dropped by Forever21 and picked up a few things. I did not want to try on clothes because again, no spectacular deals. I got a silver necklace for my traditional outfit for our new year. And then I just got to envelope clutches in brown and red. These I’ve been searching for because they are a good deal, they’re only $10 each!
Then we drove across the street to Ulta where again, they had some good beauty deals.
First I picked up a deslick from Urban decay to try it out.
So far I’m not loving it. I don’t feel like it does anything to hold the oil at bay.
Next I got this benefit blush duo in Throb and Georgia.
They’re full sized, discontinued and really good deal! Each blush on its own is almost $30 so two for $20 is a good enough deal for me. I actually want shades like this. I don’t really want the popular benefit shades like bella bamba and coralista because I have so much pink and coral but I do want odd shades like dandelion and these two. Throb is a purply mauve and Georgia is a light peach which is so pretty!
Then I got this Stila waterproof liner set for $10.
Its in koi and silver dollar and they’re really nice. The gold one has extreme staying power!
And then they had the Smashbox mini primer on sale for $9 so I picked one up.
They’re usually $16 for the small bottle. Here I have it pictured next to my big 1 oz one so you can see the difference in size. I bought this because mine is almost out and I started using MUFE’s HD primer but I’m not loving it so I decided to get this one just in case I end up really hating the MUFE one and have no more primer.
And that’s it for my makeup haul! Here’s a shot of everything!
I did get some Christmas things from Walmart for wrapping and some other little stuff like gifts but that’s most of my Black Friday Haul. I’m reconsidering how early I go next year because I was disappointed with the sales this year.
Bonus: I picked up 10 elf brushes from the new year over the weekend. I just figured, I need them and there’s no shipping cost so why not?
I told myself I’d go for new experiences this time and not for shopping and I thought I was sticking to my resolution pretty well and then I got home and realized I still bought a lot of things. So again, I have to split my LA haul into parts. The first part is beauty. I didn’t go NYX crazy this time, in fact, I didn’t buy a single NYX.
First, I got a tweezer from F21. I just bought this one because I like the wide part at the bottom for picking up and putting on lashes and I only have one other wide tweezer so I thought I’d buy one to keep in my makeup bag for on the road lash applications. Not the most flattering design but it was either this or polka dots (which I hate) or rhinestones (which I can tolerate but still don’t like much.)
Then I got this little foundation mixing dish from little tokyo to mix my two colorstay shades:
I also got some hair stuff from F21. First, a comb set and I just got it because I couldn’t resist the color! Its just such a cute shade of pinky purple!
I also got this Betsey Johnsonesque brush that I again, could not resist. I don’t even brush my hair much but it was such a cute pink!
I also got some nail covers from faceshop to keep things from touching your nail and protect your nails while drying.
And then I went to santee alley and did some damage. I got a set of nail dotting tools:
Some nail stickers
And 12 klean color polishes. I was iffy last time about buying santee alley polishes but then the salon we went to had this brand and my cousins actually chose this brand for their nails and it turned out really nice so I thought I’d try some. They were 12 for $8. What a deal! When I get a chance I’ll put them all on a wheel so you can see their quality.
I chose this silvery black because I only have a black and no variations.
Next is a sort of shimmery dark green. I was thinking ahead to st. pattys 2012 lol.
Then I chose this salmon colored called sheer peach.
I also got an ivory champagne type of color in sandstone.
Then this next color I got because it was the exact color my cousin chose for her salon manicure and it looks so awesome and metallic on her nails that I had to get it! Two coats made her nails look like gel nails.
Then I got this sheer pink, I don’t know why. Lighting in my room is definitely not the same as in the store lol.
I also chose this next color because its awesome! It’s another black but with gold infused glitters! I saw this as a new years nail once and never forgot it.
Then I got another pinky shade.
I got this really pretty dark tone red /plum color that I’d actually really like for a cardigan lol.
Another more plain wine tone color.
I got a neutral orange tone one.
Lastly, I got this redish orange tone one.
And of course I stocked up on lashes. I bought maybe 40 pairs 🙂 I’ll post those up in a separate post but here is a shot of my newly organized lash drawer.
Whew! That was a lot. Next post featuring fashion & accessories.
