[ ♡ ] Elf Order in!Posted: December 8, 2010
I finally got my elf order in after stalking my tracking number for a week (so really, it hasn’t been that long.) I ordered a few of the new elf mineral brushes during cyber Monday because it was 50% off and they looked nice online. I ordered two sets and two extra brushes (blender and lip brushes.) Here are some shots:
Now onto my assessment of the brushes. They look nice and are eco-friendly. Visually, they look like eco tools brushes. The elf claim that they are soft is true; the bristles are incredibly soft and nice on your skin. Now, the reality: I’m very disappointed with the majority of them because they are all on the thin side. None of them are as dense as they look and for the price you’re paying, should be denser. The biggest disappointment was the single blender brush. It’s so thin, I don’t think I’ll be able to use it. I can’t even swirl it around on my hand correctly. The pouches that come with the sets are also a disappointment but I already knew that so its not a big factor for me. The other disappointment was the kabuki brush. It is very small and very thin. It looks like a toy brush. I will probably toss that one.
I actually ordered a full set of the elf mineral brushes just a day before reciveing these in the mail because my little sister wanted some but as soon as I got these I canceled my 2nd elf order. These brushes are definitely not worth purchasing (least of all, a second time.) It’s sad because I’ve had good experiences with elf brushes before. I really like their basic blending brush and professional flat top brush. Hopefully they come out with better brushes next time.
